hawkeyetlse Posted March 29, 2023 #26 Share Posted March 29, 2023 Yes, they know who's on and off the ship. But they don't know what you're doing off the ship (on one of their excursions or touring independently). The excursions people can say you bought a ticket for such and such excursion, but they don't know if the ticket was actually used (until the local tour operator hands in the ticket stubs to get paid), and they will never be sure who actually used the ticket (whether it was the person whose name was on the ticket, or someone else). So some catamaran is attacked by a sea creature and it devours everyone on board. All they have is the stack of ticket stubs that the guide collected, so their first assumption is that those are the victims. Your name is on one of the tickets, and security confirms that you left the ship and never came back. They tell your family on board that you are believed to be dead. In fact, you are at Señor Frog's. True story. 1
