Purple Gallinule Posted April 21, 2023 #1 Share Posted April 21, 2023 We are sailing B2B to Alaska in June. When we get to Whittier we have the same cabin for our return trip. The schedule says we sail at 8:30pm. Can anyone tell me what time we would have to be back on board? Is it like a port-of-call where we need to be back 30-60 minutes prior to sailing? Thanks. Steelers36 Posted April 21, 2023 #2 Share Posted April 21, 2023 Any place we have been, it is posted 30 minutes prior to sail time. 2
wowzz Posted April 21, 2023 #3 Share Posted April 21, 2023 As it is a "new" cruise, the back on board time might be more than 30 minures prior to departure, as the passenger manifest has to be completed, and new passengers have to watch the safety video, and "check in" at their muster station.
skynight Posted April 21, 2023 #4 Share Posted April 21, 2023 I would say yes and plan on 30 to 60 minutes before sailing time. While the current itinerary mentions 8:30 this time could be adjusted based on weather, arriving tour groups and many other factors. Personally I would target for 1 hour or more before sailing. I would not feel comfortable planning too close. Also consider the Whitter tunnel schedule which regulates times in each direction. Read the all passengers back on board sign as you exit the ship. Be sure your watches are set to the proper time. If nothing posted then ask. Allow time to pass through security when boarding. 1
Rare Essiesmom Posted April 21, 2023 #5 Share Posted April 21, 2023 If you are taking an In Transit excursion to Anchorage, it will get you back before dinner. If you are doing a glaciers excursion from Whittier, they will have you back in plenty of time. There is not much at all in Whittier itself. You might check out the Alaska board under Ports of Call for excursion information. EM
drowelf Posted April 21, 2023 #6 Share Posted April 21, 2023 The best source for the answer to this question would be the cruise line itself. Call their customer service or check in with the front desk when you board the first segment.
