Los Angeles to San Diego on Amtrak track issues - any guess on how long "temporary" is?

Recommended Posts

The pictures I saw were of a good slipping of the hillside, not just some debris falling from the hillside. I would say we could be looking at a month or more.

They have a bus bridge in place, I am pretty sure.

Does anyone have any educated guess on when regular train service should resume, by August, September, end of year?

Local news says about 20 feet of slip so I doubt it will take more than a week or so.

We are not even into Flood Season (one of So Cal's Four Season along with Fire Season and Mudslide Season) yet. They may fix San Clemente but get more issues further south, where they have had previous problems. Just be flexible and have alternatives ready.
