KandMGIn Posted June 3, 2004 #1 Share Posted June 3, 2004 Hello all! We are taking a ride on the Conquest in January and I was hoping to strike up some conversation so I do not lose my head during this seven month wait. Happy Chatting! Rowan555 Posted June 3, 2004 #3 Share Posted June 3, 2004 We LOVE the Conquest - my favorite ship thus far. Sailing on her again this October, and I can't wait. Lovely ship, good service, very clean, lots of fun for everyone. My favorite spot on the ship is the Lido Deck Sky Pool area - my kids and I spent nearly every day there swimming and eating pizzas and burgers. We had a family stateroom on the Spa deck, and it was an awesome experience to have the larger room with floor-to-ceiling, wall-to-wall window! June Bug Posted June 5, 2004 #4 Share Posted June 5, 2004 Rowan- We have booked the Spa Family room also...Is that room too high up? I'm concerned about feeling ship movement. We have sailed on the Conquest before without really feeling anything, but have never stayed this high up before. Did you think the extra $$ were worth it?? My kids are very excited about it!! BJs mom Posted June 5, 2004 #9 Share Posted June 5, 2004 We went on the Conquest in February, awesome ship. We've been on 9 cruises and this was our favorite. First time with Carnival but we were so happy with our cruise we booked the Pride in January. Eight of us are going to the Mexican Rivera out of Long Beach CA, heard this ship is like the Conquest only smaller. You will LOVE this cruise!! Former bandstand girl!! MelBCroozer Posted June 5, 2004 #10 Share Posted June 5, 2004 We sailed the Conquest 6/22/03 and had a great time. We had a group of 32. Our kids now want to cruise with a group every time we travel. We are planning on going on Conquest's sister ship the Glory next summer. We need a change in scenery with the ports. The Conquest is a beauty!! shecat Posted June 5, 2004 #11 Share Posted June 5, 2004 You will love the spa deck rooms. My co-worker just back from the Conquest and they had one of those rooms. She said it is quite with no hall traffic. The view is wonderful and the room is a little bit larger. It is also convenient to the pool and lido deck restaurants. p2lockhart Posted June 5, 2004 #12 Share Posted June 5, 2004 The Conquest is the best ship I have been on yet. Best spa with great shower facilities at the spa. I loved our Lido deck cabin, even though it was inside. Everything about her was great. Rowan555 Posted June 5, 2004 #13 Share Posted June 5, 2004 We didn't notice the movement until day 5, and I got REALLY sick. The water was rough - our steward mentioned being sick from the motion as well, so it wasn't just the Spa Deck. I was nauseated all day, but better after that. People on the lower decks claimed to have felt NO motion at all. We loved the Spa Deck, and loved the extra room. You can sit at the table by the window and read or watch the water while everyone else is still asleep - the heavy curtains close the room off before the windowed area, so you can have all that space to yourself - it's like a balcony IN the room. We were able to get upgraded to Spa deck during a Carnival promotion last year - apparently, they have changed the designations of these staterooms so that you can no longer do that. As such, I wouldn't pay extra to do it again - but I'm REALLY glad we experienced it that one time. This October we'll be way at the bottom. DH doesn't want a balcony stateroom, and the only other oceanviews are on Decks 1 and 2. I actually wanted to be in a spot where I could get to the Sky Pool and the Lido dining as quickly as possible, and we're 2 steps from the elevator that will take us there - so I'm happy! KandMGIn Posted June 6, 2004 Author #18 Share Posted June 6, 2004 Wow! I am excited now! I would have loved one of those spa rooms, but could not justify the extra cost. Our inside lowest level room with our two toddlers will be the test on whether or not we will take such a small room on the next family cruise! I do wish we could do two nights in New Orleans! I feel like we will not be able to see enough. Guess that means we will have to go to NO again! Hehehe. Oh hubby, get out the checkbook!
