Vaping in Celebrity casinos

I just received a call from Celebrity executive office confirming vaping trial in the casino aboard 2 of its ships for 8 weeks.  The Equinox  is one of the ships and passengers were not notified ahead of time.  I have written and now verbally let the Celebrity representative know of my feelings.  If vaping moves forward I will be moving away from Celebrity and cancelling my cruise.  If you have strong feelings write to executiveoffice@celebrity.com

Just received my phone call…it seems they gotten a lot of feedback already…not very positive…hopefully this is over soon…would be nice if they can end it before the 8 week test …like the menus that came and went very fast,,,

I do NOT want my very expensive cruise to be used as a “test” for any changes (menu, vaping, etc).  Why don’t they do a focus group before testing begins.  Our next X cruise is our last X cruise.  Moving on….

People are already vaping in the casino and pretty much everywhere else on the ship, as well as on the airplane ride to the cruise, you just are not noticing it or smelling it.

Have sent an email, we will not sail on any ship that allows smoking or vaping indoors. We are going back to Azamara in October and may well look at Oceania for our March cruise

I sent my email.  I suggested they change the phase Modern Luxury to Modern Health Suicide.

Although, it is a while to final payment, I indicated Vaping is a bridge too far for us.  Will an 8 week test next be in Blu?  Come to Blu we’re we provide a Healthy food alternative with clean refreshing  Vaping.

That has not been my experience.  Quite the opposite, in fact.

 

I have observed a handful of people vaping over the years inside places on Celebrity.  When I see it,  I generally notify a manager nearby, such as the Asst M’D or the Asst Bar Manager in that area.  They usually put a stop it to quickly.  When I observed someone smoking on a balcony nearby, I asked for the housekeeping supervisor for my floor, explained what I saw/smelled, and he took care of it. 
 

I am extremely sensational to smoke and the gasses from vapes and the lack of inside smoking and vaping is EXACTLY why I sail Celebrity.

So Azamara has no casinos, and doesn't Oceania allow smoking indoors in a portion of Horizons?

I'm guessing they will tolerate the negative feedback for a while in order to see what the financial impact is on the casino.

I agree. And I hope they don’t check my casino spending before deciding whether to count my feedback or bin it! Swimming amongst the casino whales and sharks, I suspect I’m a wrasse😂

I guess the Wellness programming has fizzled financially so now starting on the slippery slope towards  allowing smoking....ugh!

 

if  folks esp  frequent users stay out of the casino ,  and let mgmnt know why..that would be a good inducator ..cruise lines are revenue driven!

I believe we have a winner!!

 

Michael Bayley has said almost as much every time he is asked the question about Royal’s casino smoking policy. They refuse to give up revenue and will tolerate the upset customers.
