Octavias Posted July 12, 2023 #1 Share Posted July 12, 2023 (edited) We are set to sail out of Seattle next May and I’ve watched all the YouTube videos I can find on Seattles pier 91 embarkation process for celebrity. There is not much available and I’ve yet to see anything set up for retreat guests. Mostly what I’ve seen are long lines with no porters for luggage but that has been for other cruise lines. Anyone sailed out of Seattle recently for a celebrity retreat sailing? How was it? Edited July 12, 2023 by Octavias
Northern Aurora Posted July 13, 2023 #2 Share Posted July 13, 2023 We have cruised out of Pier 91 (Smith Cove) several times and have always done so in Suites. We have not experienced long lines with no porters at Smith Cove. We arrive about 11 and have not had any issues with finding porters. Just make sure they are porters for Celebrity as generally two ships will be boarding. Each ship has their different bag drop, but it is well marked. Just tell the pier boarding folks that you are in the Retreat/Suite and you will be directed to the appropriate line. We haven't experienced any delays.
Rare Ferry_Watcher Posted July 13, 2023 #3 Share Posted July 13, 2023 There are two pier staff "Genies" that will escort upper suite guests thru check-in, where usually a ship hospitality host will walk them over to a retreat Lounge area. The Retreat Lounge has offers a light continental l breakfast (breakfast pastries, cookies, brownies, fruit, chilled drinks). Retreat guests are the first to board the ship, usually around 11 AM. The terminal Retreat Lounge usually stays quiet after that, unless if a Suite passenger has to wait for a ship host to escort them onto the ship. If a host is available, the suite passenger skips the terminal Retreat lounge and is escorted directly to their suite. Any lines that the OP saw would have been for the 4,900 passenger Ovation of the Seas, which also is at Pier 91 on Fridays. Celebrity Solstice passengers are directed into the building, with virtually no waiting. The Edge will be Celebrity's Seattle RT Alaska cruise ship in 2024
Denny01 Posted July 13, 2023 #4 Share Posted July 13, 2023 And even non-suite boarding was very quick and efficient. We got a taxi and arrived close to our check in time. No Celebrity line. We walked by the RCL dock and the line for that ship was just about the length of the ship. no problems for any of us and sufficient porters who came up to our taxi and took care of our luggage. every Celebrity departure port I’ve used has had special handling for Retreat. den
