Papadog Posted June 4, 2024 #29 Posted June 4, 2024 Just found out.......THAT THEY ARE PLANNING TO GO TO THE CANARY ISLANDS

It sounds like this ship isn't in as good shape as they thought. They should have pushed the start back a month in the beginning instead of two weeks at a time. It reads better politically, makes it easier to plan for the pax, and if the ship is done early, they can do a shake-down cruise with the crew.

VL1 Posted June 15, 2024 #32 Posted June 15, 2024 I really want to believe this ship will sail, but these delays are troubling.

My friends were burned by Life at Sea with their "we're having trouble transferring the funds but will have the ship next week" week after week.
VL1 Posted June 19, 2024 #34 Posted June 19, 2024 (edited) They are due to sail in June 21. Wonder if they will make it? Edited June 19, 2024 by VL1 Spelling
VL1 Posted June 22, 2024 #36 Posted June 22, 2024 So, Cruise tracker still has the ship in Belfast, where she was undergoing drydock repairs. Hmmm....
sandiego1 Posted June 23, 2024 #37 Posted June 23, 2024 Friends are going to be passengers on Villa Vie. They were told the ship has been delayed until 6/28. They were given a free trip to Tenerife while they wait.
Papadog Posted June 26, 2024 #39 Posted June 26, 2024 Just heard..............Delayed to JULY 15TH......May be a Mutiny !!!!!!
Rare Host Jazzbeau Posted June 26, 2024 Author #41 Posted June 26, 2024 Villa Vie’s Odyssey Launch Date Pushed Back Again According to Cruise Industry News "a new departure date was not publicly announced by Villa Vie" [dateline June 26, 2024]

MacMadame Posted June 27, 2024 #43 Posted June 27, 2024 Are they on the ship or just paid and are waiting for the ship to show up? (Confused)
VL1 Posted June 28, 2024 #44 Posted June 28, 2024 Very worrisome. It appears from the repeated mechanical failures that they have chosen a ship that is old (1993) and not sea worthy. I would love to know what is happening to the paying passengers

Rare Host Jazzbeau Posted July 3, 2024 Author #46 Posted July 3, 2024 The latest from Cruise Industry News: Villa Vie Residences to Set Sail July 20 But this is a projection based on completing a major replacement project for the "rudder stocks" and then getting certification. I hope the Canary Islands can hold their charm...
VL1 Posted July 3, 2024 #47 Posted July 3, 2024 Wow. That is some time slip from original sail date. I would be chewing my fingernails were I a potential passenger. This does not bode well.

VL1 Posted July 5, 2024 #49 Posted July 5, 2024 (edited) I will believe it when the eye sail away. The question is how long do the passengers wait until they ask for a refund or prorated trip? Then the line will say they don't have enough passengers and/or money to make the venture profitable. Oy vey. Edited July 5, 2024 by VL1 Spelling
