I am a person who tries to go everywhere by public transportation. I live in the center of a city and only use my car to go to the outskirts. Many places take similar time on public transport than by car (taking into account that I get off and get to the place from public transport and I have to park the car, possibly somewhere different).
However, for the port of Barcelona I am going to suggest a taxi for any destination.
