ROUS Posted December 21, 2023 #28 Share Posted December 21, 2023 Thanks for all the great info. We climb aboard Eurodam in about two weeks. It will be our second time on her and we can't wait.
Rare Crew News Posted December 22, 2023 #29 Share Posted December 22, 2023 Thanks for an excellent review. Glad to hear that your cruise was enjoyable and the ship functioning well. I often write in bran muffins or chocolate croissants on my Breakfast Room Service card. For those cruising on the Eurodam next month, Reggie, an amateur magician will be joining the Canaletto Restaurant staff.

Thanks, and safe travels. If you look you will find many areas that need work.caulking, night stand damage, teak deck rotted at some doors causing issue pushing open, etc. But it's an old ship and none of these detracted from our cruise. Just noted. We'd sail on Eurodam any day over the newer ships if given same itineraries.

Reports are mixed. Thanks, and safe travels. As REOVA posted, there are some indications of it being an older ship. But it was refreshed less than a year ago, and the furniture and finishings in the Lido and other lounges was beautiful and in great shape. During this cruise, the Captain mentioned receiving 100 crates of new curtains and linens for staterooms, which would be installed as they cruise over the coming weeks.. highscar Posted December 22, 2023 #33 Share Posted December 22, 2023 Few years ago I sailed in what became my favorite cabin. By accident my mobility scooter handle bar made a black scrape on the wall at the bottom of the bed. At the end of the cruise she was in dry dock. A year later I was in the same cabin, the same scrape still on the wall. A “honey I’m home moment”. 2
KenveeB Posted December 29, 2023 #34 Share Posted December 29, 2023 Thanks for the review! I’m sailing on Eurodam on Jan 24. First time on HAL for me!
Butch71065 Posted May 23 #35 Share Posted May 23 We have not been on the Eurodam, but first sailed on the Nueie(sp) Amsterdam in 2015, the Koningsdam in 2017, Statendam in 2022 or so(I forget exactly when) and the Rotterdam in 2023. Loved all of them and we will be boarding Eurodam on October 11, 2024 to cruise the Panama Canal, long on my bucket list. Next April we will be embarking the Rotterdam for a TA and up to Norway. Hope the ship doesn't disappoint.

I have to check mine frequently!
Butch71065 Posted May 24 #37 Share Posted May 24 I know I can do that, just didn't want to take the time.

I no longer have the picture but I did have a nasty set of bruises from someone backing into me, while on their scooter, on our Med cruise. It was many years ago but I seem to remember it was a new or rental scooter and he was still getting the hang of it.
highscar Posted May 26 #43 Share Posted May 26 Sorry he had to learn the hard way. Mine is a small 3 wheeler that allows me to do a 3 point turn even in the HAL glass elevators.
RuthC Posted May 26 #44 Share Posted May 26 4 hours ago, highscar said: Careless operator. Sorry, but that isn't necessarily true. Scooters don't have rear view mirrors, and the driver can't be looking backwards in every direction at once, not to mention the blind spots. One looks over one shoulder, then the other, and back and forth. In the meantime, the pedestrian isn't paying close attention to what is in front of them, and certainly not looking much lower than eye level. People in scooters are quite low, and beyond the field of vision of pedestrians who are not watching where they are going. It is critical that the drivers be careful, but it is also true that those who are walking also pay attention. You wouldn't believe the number of walkers who have cut right in front of me as if I weren't there.
