dleahy4444 Posted December 22, 2023 #1 Share Posted December 22, 2023 I have move up bids pending on an upcoming cruise that seems sold out on the Celebrity website. Do I still have a shot? I know it is possible in theory with last minute cancellations, but is there anyone out there where this has actually worked out?
OC_Voyages Posted December 22, 2023 #2 Share Posted December 22, 2023 Yes, you still have a shot. Here's why: As the sailing date approaches there is a team down in Miami that "reserves," for lack of a better word, staterooms. These reserved rooms are filled in a variety of ways (special guests, Casino offers, and MoveUp) and they are hidden from the general public. Another reason could be that certain travel agencies like are holding space yet to be filled. As the sail date approaches this unsold space is released but may or may not appear for the general public. If you're interested in a higher category stateroom you should submit your bid, the worst that can happen is they say no and you have some extra money to enjoy on your vacay! Cheers 🙂 2

Cheers 🙂 Oh I wasn’t aware of that. Thank you. We did put in our bids. We are already in a sunset veranda and would only give up that balcony if we could get a sky suite which is unobstructed. We didn’t bid on the sky suite category because we didn’t want to take the chance of being assigned a Magic Carpet sky suite. So that only leaves an Aqua Sky suite or a Sunset Sky Suite, which are not very plentiful. Fingers crossed!
Rare Itchy&Scratchy Posted December 22, 2023 #4 Share Posted December 22, 2023 this will be our first cruise on Celebrity (so, no previous experience) but our cruise is completely sold out (spring break), so we haven't received any move up offers. Move Up offers can come available anytime after final payment but generally closer to sailing date. You can check to see if a move up offer is available to you by going to your reservation on the website, select Manage Reservation and scroll to the bottom. If Move Up is open for your cruise you can fill in your name and reservation and see if you are eligible. Not all TA participate in Move Up.
