There will be 5 ships at the port on January 15 2025. Can 5 ships dock at the port? I have read it only can hold up to 4 ships.

This is rare but IIRC at least 1 ship, maybe 2 will anchor out and ship lifeboats will ferry passengers to pier.

Also sometimes these advanced schedules are in error and itineraries may change.

I agree with @crewsweeperย in general although I am not sure have never seen ships tender at Costa Maya. I am not sure they even have the necessary manpower or facilities.

ย

Given the poor record recently of ships being able to even dock at the four available piers, I think 5, including tendering would be interesting. The capacity of the long pier for foot traffic is already at capacity at peak times.

I agree schedules are often erroneous this far out but I did check and these ships do in fact appear to be scheduled at the moment according to their itineraries. It is possible that perhaps the port hours are wrong since Costa Maya often hosts ships for half days - perhaps they are double booking one pier for two short stays?

Looking at the port schedule this is not the only day for five ships. Hope you report back nearer the time with an update of how it was managed.
