Aew0431 Posted July 26 #1 Share Posted July 26 Hi, travelling with an older person (75+) who sometimes has a day with being incontinent. We booked the day long excursion to the pyramids in Egypt. A travel in a bus for 3½ hours, two times. Does anyone know if there is a toilet on board the bus or regular breaks?

We did a similar excursion on a different cruise line and there was a restroom stop
iflyrc5 Posted July 26 #3 Share Posted July 26 We are doing an overnight tour out of Alexandria to Cairo and they said our bus would have a restroom plus we will have a stop along the way.
ECCruise Posted July 26 #4 Share Posted July 26 Generally on tours such as this, there will be a rest stop(s) every 60-90 minutes or so. I would never assume that there will be one on the bus. Too many times that 1) there isn't one or 2) there is one but it is inoperable or 3)there is one and they will not allow you to access it.
Rare carolina_yankee Posted July 26 #5 Share Posted July 26 Also note that that restrooms are few and far between in Giza. I believe at the entrance, and then a set of mobile ones in the back area where the camel rides originate. There may also be some by the Sphinx someplace. The restrooms will be barely tolerable but generally will serve the needs. Bring your own toilet paper (we brought individual rolls of campaigning toilet paper in our day bags), and small bills for access. On a cruise, you may not have easy access to Egyptian pounds, but they will accept dollars gladly. Attendants stand guard. Your guide will help you with the particulars.

My wife and I did the 3.5 hour each way shore excursion from Safaga to the Valley of the Kings. There was one rest stop each way.
