Oceanview – deck 1 of Rotterdam...issues?

Good morning all,

 

Just booked cabin 1099 on Rotterdam's main deck (deck 1). I carefully chose a deck under shops, but have no idea what is directly under the cabin. BB King's is one deck up on the port side. I'm hoping to avoid any noise issues since we'll be on the other side of the ship. I specifically avoided triple or quad cabins because of HAL's recent policy regarding 2 people in a cabin that has more capacity.

 

Has anyone here stayed in or near this cabin that can provide their experience? Thanks.

Those cabins are noisy because of the music venues one deck up.  We knew people under the Rolling Stones rock cabin and they could hear the base during the shows.

I was under the area between BBKing and Billboard and had no issues. I have good hearing and only noticed a bit of music occasionally. Certainly not during the late night/early morning hours.

Koningsdam and Rotterdam have same cabin layout and location of music walk.  We were on Deck 4 and could hear the bass, but according to the linked poster they said it was quiet in their Main Deck stateroom.  KO and RD staterooms 1099 and 1095 are right next to each other on both ships.  https://halfacts.com/pinnacle-class/1095-koningsdam/

You don’t say what embarkation port you booked for, but one thing that was an absolute bonus-embarkation at pier 26 in FLL happens on Deck 1. No need to mess with an elevator to get to your cabin or fight for one during disembarkation.

I had 1085 earlier this year. I did not encounter any noise issues.

We were just onboard a week ago for 3 weeks in 1179. It was very quiet

We didn’t even pick that cabin. We had a guaranteed cabin.  🤷‍♀️
