I know everyone talks about HAL and Princess, and I love both those lines, but I also think Celebrity has excellent one way itineraries that start/end in Seward. There's a ton to do in Seward, you can easily spend several days there. It has a lovely little downtown, a national park, and plenty of transit connections. Whittier is a terminus. Mind you, I wouldn't mind going back to Whittier for one day to see college fjord up close on a small ship, but I would happily go back to Seward for several days.

Another option is Cunard.  They go into a lot of smaller ports like Sitka and Haines and have a REAL 10 hour port day in Victoria, BC.  They also do Hubbard glacier and Glacier Bay.

Cunard has probably one of the best naturalists IMO. Rachel Cartwright.
