greensprout Posted Wednesday at 04:40 AM #51 Share Posted Wednesday at 04:40 AM Yes to good insurance. Before retirement I worked for the government and at times contracted civilian air ambulance companies to repatriate injured/ill persons back to North America. One I recall perhaps 8 years ago from Thailand to the west coast with ICU level care team onboard came to about $125K Cdn $. As to vaccines (previously worked in that to for persons being sent for work to odd locations), definitely have the basics up to date. Hep A and B, tetanus, flu/COVID, then any other ones specific to where you will travel and if you'll be in cities vs forest/jungle. The previously mentioned CDC site is your best resource outside of a travel clinic. Bacic vaccines are prudent for any health minded traveler when going outside the country, especially to other continents.
