yarramar Posted September 8, 2024 #1 Posted September 8, 2024 Mrs Y came across a cruise Barcelona to Malta aboard the Caledonian Sky. This ship was recently owned by APT and sailed the Kimberley and Fiji. There is not much available online as to the shipboard experience, which may also be totally different on the Med, but any info will be good.
Rare arxcards Posted September 8, 2024 #2 Posted September 8, 2024 She is still being operated by Captain Cook cruises in Fiji, departing their fleet in early November. Hard to know what the onboard experience will be like in the med, and would be worth checking out similar Travelmarvel itineraries to get an idea of their standards. I am more aware of their brand being river cruising, yet Caledonian Sky is an expedition style small ship. 1
Ondine Posted September 8, 2024 #3 Posted September 8, 2024 She only has 114 passengers. Suggest you look on Youtube for some videos to get an idea of what life is like onboard. There are a couple there. 1

Patois Posted September 9, 2024 #5 Posted September 9, 2024 We have been on her a few times when she was under APT. Most recently we did a week in Fiji earlier this year when she was run by Captain Cook cruises and ship was in good condition. When it has been an APT cruise it has been exceptional couldn't say the same with Captain Cook Cruises. The layout is good and with APT you had choice of dining on the back deck or in the main dining room. Although the ship is small the state rooms are a good size. It never felt crowded and if APT/Travelmarvel are running it I would go for it. 1
