As a Carnival customer I don't give a flyin' Wallenda (ELR quote) which Dept is paying for my perks. Just shower me with the good stuff and I'll keep coming back! 👍😁

That fits the profile of a gambler and is something the casino can make a business decision on. Carnival is in the cruise business and likes customers who like the brand and don't cruise for perks. The two have different target markets and should have independent budgets.

OMG. Carnival IS in the cruise business and likes customers who spend $$$ period, whether or not they like the brand or the perks or anything else. That is their ONLY target market. Money talks and BS walks, as they used to say.

Carnival says "give us your money", and I say "give me a reason to give you my money". MONEY makes the world go round. Not loyalty. Not warm fuzzy feelings. Not Pats on the back. Those are nice, but bottom line is all about the Benjamins. And even Carnival doesn't care which area of the ship you spend yours on.

Stepping off my soapbox again😬. This horse ain't gettin' any deader.

If it truly was all about the money, Carnival would be peddling drugs or some other likely illegal high profit biz.

In the cruise biz, Carnival could perhaps make more if they were an elitist cruise line, but only in the short term.

The founder knew the money was with the masses and not a niche market.

The more this topic drags on the more I realize how people are never satisfied with what they have. It’s like when you see someone with a cookie on the ship you instinctively ask them where did you get that from. They tell you and you go get a cookie. Here everyone knows the perks the casino gives, but the faithful few who know the gig but only get a bottle of water, a pin and their third Fanny pack have temper tantrums that carnival doesn’t punish  the gamblers by spitting in their face and saying you cannot have a pin and the priority perks are not for you. Boo hoo hoo. Grow up - the casino is profitable and they give the gamblers perks from everywhere. If you cannot handle that I suggest you join them and see if you can beat the odds of losing your money in the money pit.

I see it as some can't handle having their bribes questioned. It reminds me of smokers claiming the whole industry would collapse if their addiction was restricted. It didn't happen and never will.

Questions away. But at the end of the day nothing is changing. The casino will continue to lure the people in and Carnival will continue to award VIFP points. This topic is living rent free inside of you.

This is just a comment. Not an indictment about anything. Just purely a statistic. As of post #213, below are the following statics on this topic:

5 posters on this topic have posted a total 100 post or 46.93%. I guess I got bored with the topic and started counting.

Perhaps, but the casino budget would be paying for casino perks.

It has been stated on this board many times over that the casino does pay for the rooms perks that they "award" to their players. I don't understand why this issue keeps rearing it's head.

Also, this topic has now been beaten to death and I am surprised that the moderators have not locked this discussion.  It is only continuing to fuel the fire in the bellies of those that do not like the gamblers.
