the search feature is not working for me, I've checked for 2 days now.

What do you do when you get off the ship but have a later flight home?  Has anyone used Dayuse Hotels before?  Normally I would just do an excursion or hang out somewhere, airport included but this time, the WHOLE family is coming!!

Thank you

We have done this a couple times now and thought it well worth it. We did it once for a group of ten in FLL and did it again just recently outside of Galveston for a group of four. We also had late flights, lots of luggage to deal with and did not want to sit at the airport all day. In both cases the hotel had a pool to help pass time and restaurants onsite or nearby. We did not spend much time in the room itself but it was nice to have a space to sneak in a nap, change clothes or take a quick shower before heading to the airport if you wanted. It kind of felt like we were extending our vacation by a day and it was a great way to regroup before heading home and to back to reality :).

Used Dayuse for the first time recently in Jersey City when we got off the ship in Bayonne.

It worked out great and will definitely use them again, nice to rest up, have something to eat and a shower before our long flight home.

First, what time are your flights?  Real question being, just how much time are you trying to kill?

Second, why not just pick a hotel next to the airport -- one with a pool /anything else that'd amuse your family, and reserve it yourself?  Go straight to the source /cut out the Day Use people.

The Everglades probably aren't a great option:  Google Maps says it'd be a 38 minute drive ... then a 35 minute to the airport.  Include time to get 19 people + their luggage on /off a shuttle (you'd probably do better to rent a couple vans), and you're burning an hour each way.  You'd barely have any time to see the huge and wonderful park.

You can find some fun things to do in the general port area -- a big park, a Ferris wheel, a Hard Rock Cafe -- but you'd need transportation to these places, and then you'd have to deal with your luggage.

Overall, I like the idea of a hotel-for-a-day.
