Which types of credit cards do the vendors accept?

I was wondering if anyone knew which type of credit cards do the vendors in Tahiti accept.

 

I like traveling with AMEX and Discover but I know not every vendor takes these two cards. Do they take AMEX or Discover on the islands? Or do they mostly accept Visa and Mastercard?

We just got back and it seemed to me they mainly took Visa and MC. Sometimes American Express but sometimes not. I didn't see Discover or Amex signs, but I wasn't really looking for them either.

betty, they do take AMEX in the hotels and larger restaraunts. I booked our rental car with AMEX too in BB. I know they took my visa debit card everywhere though.

I will be carrying both.

FYI: Discover card is not accept on the islands not even at the major hotels ;)

FYI, major hotels on the islands do NOT accept Discover Card :)

Everyplace to AMEX except for one place. It is good to travel with Visa and AMEX.
