Conquest Review June 4-11

Recommended Posts

This was my wife and I first cruise. We are 29 & 26. We loved this cruise. The weather was not always great but we had fun.

The Boat--

The boat is big. Take the first day to learn the layout, it will pay off later. I was able to move through the ship pretty quickly because on the first day I grabbed a couple of drinks and walked the ship. The food is pretty good. I liked the dinners in the dining room better than the food on the Lido Deck. We ate dinner in the Monet and waiters where Chandanah and June, those guys were great. Todd the cruise director was a good guy. Our room steward (6th floor, 6314) was "G", I called him "G-Money". Was very funny and did a great job. This boat was fun.

Jamaica--

Was asked if I wanted cocaine and weed twice. We went to Sunrise Beach and a blast even though it poured on us. Our group stayed in the pool and played volleyball with a group of guys from Ohio who were staying there and they said it had rained for 5 straight days. Jamaica is very poor but Sunrise Beach was a great place to go. TAKE ONLY JUTA TAXI'S.

Grand Cayman--

We went to Stingray City with MOBY DICKS. We had a great time with them and they did a great job. Our boat had 41 people on it and the guys were real personable. I sat on top of the boat with Captain Larry and he talked to me the whole time was very nice.

Cozumel--

THE PRETTIEST WATER I HAVE SEEN IN MY LIFE!!!!!!! We were going to go to Paradise Beach but on our Taxi ride down there our driver told us about Playa Mia. We went there instead and this place was wonderful. It was $40 per person and it was all inclusive. POR FAVOR CERVEZA SENOR!!!!! We did a snorkeling about 3:00 and went back to town and I continued my drinking while walking thru the shops.

I did a lot of research on the internet and it really helped out. I just can't believe I did not hear of PLAYA MIA.

My suggestions on excursions: BOOK YOUR OWN. Get off the boat and get a taxi and tell them where you want to go. IT IS A LOT CHEAPER!!!

JAMAICA--SUNRISE BEACH

GRAND CAYMAN--MOBY DICKS

COZUMEL-- PLAYA MIA BEACH

BEST PART OF THE CRUISE----

On Saturday my wife and I were waiting to listen to the Disembarkment speech by Todd (cruise director) and they were having a BINGO game before it. The winner won a free cruise.....THE WINNER WAS ME!!!!!!!!

Now my wife and I are getting to choose either a 3,4,5 or 7 day cruise. We are thinking of going to Alaska.

I hope this helps out like other post helped us out.

Man! I am green with ENVY! Glad you won the free cruise. That is too cool. Do you have a time you have to book by? CONGRATS!!

Did you play in the casino very much? What about "night life" - ? When we were on the Elation - the Piano Bar was "THE" place to be every night. Just wondering where to expect the party to be at!

Congratulations on winning a cruise. What a great way to top off your first cruise.

BTW, I don't think Carnival has any 7 day Alaska cruises.

Thanks for the great review.....and so soon after returning home! Those of us that look every Sunday really appreciate that! Glad to hear you had a good time.

We (I'm so excited to say this....) will be boarding the Conquest NEXT SUNDAY! I have just a few questions for you...

*Did you mean "Sunset Beach" in Jamaica? You referred to it as Sunrise Beach and I wonder if that's a different beach? If it's indeed Sunset, was there a casino there? How was the food and drink? It was 40$ pp, right?

*Did you go to the Piano Bar on the ship? How was it?

*Much movement on this ship? Did you have a balcony room? (This will be our first!)

*Once you returned from your excursion in Grand Cayman, was there time left for some shopping? Is there shops at the pier?

*Did you go to the Point restaurant?

Ok, that's it for now. THANKS SO MUCH for helping this excited future Conquest cruiser! And....CONGRATULATIONS on the free cruise! Now you can start planning your next one!!

Thanks!

firstcruiserDB,

There are shops near the pier in Grand Cayman, but they are VERY expensive. The Caymans are known for their banking industry, so some of the shops are big-name, high dollar ones. We spent $30 for lunch, consisted of a burger, chicken strips and one drink each. Just see the sights, and do your shopping in Cozumel or Jamaica.

Thanks for a great report and so promptly may I add. I probably would be too tired to post so promptly.

I sure hope I end up winning the free cruise. Glad that you had a great time

Nice review. I was on the Miracle last year and we also stopped in Cozumel. Playa Mia is the best. The water is unbelievable and you cannot beat the price. Talk about waking up with a hangover!!
