Adventure review for 6/11...

Recommended Posts

Well, I must say yet again another great cruise on RCCL. I went with my husband and now 4 year old son in our cabin 8560 and my mom and my other son 8 years old next door in 8558.

Arived in San Juan about 12:20 in the airport and arrived on to the ship by 1:30pm. Check in was quick as a plantium member. No long lines at all. We went to our room about 2pm and our luggage was there aby 2:15pm, it was great. We had a nice lunch and went off to go golfing and swimming. My son's love to minture golf, so I did it about every day. Dinner that night was a little slow service but good. My kids were getting tired so we put them off to bed after they ship left port.

St. Thomas...the one thing that was hard with this trip was to multiple ports and the early mornings. It was always nice to have an extra day at sea to relax more. So we went to Coki beach and had a great time, went back to the ship for lunch and off shopping in the afternoon while my kids were at Adventure ocean and the other one sleeping with Dad. Dinner for the rest of the nights were excellent and I did like the captains party on the promenade deck. It was a little tight to get there with the longer dinner (we were at the main seating).

St. Marteen...well at 3am, my mom knocked on the door that my 8 year old was sick so he came in our room and slept on the couch...luckly we only planned to do some shopping and then hang out on the ship. So my husband stayed with my sick guy...who was fine for the rest of the day and the trip. But it poured rain that entire day...so of all days, it was a good one to get sick on.

Antigua...went to Dickenson beach and then hung out at the pool. Crown and Anchor party that night.

St. Lucia...did the tour on a catamaran of the Pitons and went on a beach. Alot of fun and the guys running the tour/boat were great. The second formal night and boy was the dining room empty.

Barbados...we went to Malibu beach were the kids loved the waves and making a huge sand fort. Rain came in the late afternoon. The kids did a great pirate show around the ship.

Day at sea was the best...slept in had breakfast and went to the pool, ping pong, golfing. ect. My 8 year old climbed up to the top and rang the bell on the rock climbing wall and hime and I even attempted to ice skate. It was pretty funny.

Adventure ocean...the kids loved it my 8 year old never wanted to leave, but my 4 year old was already to leave at 10pm. The only problem is that he wanted to stay, but all the kids his age left at 10pm so he did not want to stay alone without other kids. I like it in the past when they put the older and youger kids together. It was yet again a great time at Adventure ocean.

Any questions ask away!!!!

Sorry, no the kids are not allowed in the casino they just thought it was cool with all the noise and games. We stayed there two days and we we took turns going to the casino after they fell asleep. They did enjoy dancing outside of the casino in the lounge area. The hotel starts constuction this week and the tower we are in will be completely gutted and re-done and then after that the other hotel cabana tower will be re-done. They did close one of the resturaunts now secondary to the constuction.

Also about the shows and service on the Adventure, everyone was excellent. Infact on the first day my son left his gameboy case with games at the lobby bar. Of course he never missed it since the ship was so busy. So when I was packing on Saturday I called guest services since I knew it was gone and they had it the whole time. They even had logged every game and a pen that was in the case.

For those parents asking about adventure ocean, my kids begged me each day when they could go, especially the 8 year old. The kids slide was great too.

Oh, I had no desire to take my kids in a casino, I was just surprised by the comment, and thought maybe the rules were different in PR. They'll get in there soon enough, no doubt. Not eager to rush that event - lol. Thanks for the info.

I have a question about adventure ocean. We've brought our kids on the Disney Magic, but never on a RCCL ship. We are taking them next year for the first time. I was wondering if you can bring your kids in and out of the clubs any time during the hours that they are open, or do they have to be brought in at the beginning of the activity and stay till the end. Thanks.

You can take them out when ever you want except for the times they are doing there little shows...Pirate show in the evening and the Circus show during the day. Otherwise on their compass it shows you were they are. One day I even put him in the club when they were playing hide in seek in the disco club. They bring there books around to check in and out.

We too were on this cruise out of San Juan. We stayed at the Marriot Resort & Stellaris Casino which, despite some dubious reviews on TripAdvisor, was excellent. Contrary to reports, the rooms were fine, staff extremely friendly and helpful, food great - generally a fantastic start to the holiday. We also spent the day at Malibu Beach in Barbados. Having cruised once before on Navigator of the Seas, we didn't know what to expect from Adventure. No worries there - absolutely superb!!

PS. Anyone going on Adventure soon, please say hello to Sam, the singer in the Duck and Dog, from the mad Irishmen!!!!!
