Pearl Island or Blackbeard's Cay?

I'm trying to decide on a shore excursion for my 9 year old daughter and myself. Is one better than the other? Will there be more to do at Pearl Island?

Aslo, what's your opinion on the stingray snorkel thing vs. reef snorkeling?

This is our frist cruise and first time in the Bahamas. We'll be in Nassau on Friday the 14th!!

Not sure what they offer at each.. but I'll tell you this. (and there are more detailed post available here).

Pearl Island and BC both have penned stingrays. BC has a larger, and more active beach - but has NO snorkeling at all. Nothing to see.

Pearl Islands Snorkeling tour takes you off the north side to a nice reef.

but you can only do this as a tour. (you can't just pay for the island tour and bring your own gear).

Do a search for other posts on this. I'm sure I wrote a more elaborate answer recently.
