2d's Posted July 2, 2004 #1 Posted July 2, 2004 Has anyone been on this sail and snorkle excursion? It is on an 80 ft ship as opposed to a cat. Thinking of booking on an upcoming cruise but princess doesn't offer it. DD
doctrd Posted July 3, 2004 #2 Posted July 3, 2004 I have been on the Mi Dushi, and loved it. Had to book on our own, don't think any cruise line does it. BUT: When you book, make sure you bring your paperwork with you from the Email, and even your credit card receipt. When we got there, they had no record of us paying, but was quickly resolved when I showed them my receipts. It wasn't just us, happened to another couple and took a few phone calls from the pier to I asssume someone in the bookkeeping dept before it was resolved. Sure you have seen the web site, but if not, here it is: http://www.arubaadventures.com/midushi/ Anyway, we had a great time. The food was wonderful, and the drinks were custom made. Not just the premade rum punch you usually get, but anything you want from the open bar. And they serve drinks from the time you get on board, not only after the snorkleing like most excursions. The rope swing is a blast. Just make sure to let go! I was in the water and saw a woman let go just in time before she would have smashed into the side of the ship. Thought I was gonna have to save her. Save a roll from lunch, and toss pieces in the water when they stop for snorkleing. Someone from the boat threw a roll at a snorkler when they were swimming to the ship, and they were surrounded by hundreds of fish. You can see a couple of pics on my web site below. Go the the section "Destiny 11/03" to see the pics. The 'Aruba beach' shot is at the pier where Mi Dushi sets sail. Get there early and enjoy the beach while wating for the cruise. Also have a shot of the lunch on page 2.
CCLNCLRCICRUISER Posted August 5, 2004 #3 Posted August 5, 2004 doctrd Great Pics! Im curious how many people were on the ship with you?
doctrd Posted August 10, 2004 #4 Posted August 10, 2004 I'd say there were about 25 people on board. Did not feel overcrowded (unlike the Jolly Roger in Barbados, packed with people!)
vossjemi Posted December 13, 2004 #5 Posted December 13, 2004 I'm interested in MiDushi for my jan cruise. However, I entered the data in the online reservation request form, and there was no lock or indication that it was secure. There was also no place for credit card info. I'm assuming you are supposed to put that in the comments section? Anyway, I did get an email response from Mi Dushi that to hold the reservation they need CC info to pay 50% up front now. My problem is I don't want to send CC info in an email that isn't secure. I did email back and ask if they had an 800 # to do this, but haven't heard back yet. I noticed Jolly Pirates reservation form is secure, so although I'd like to do MiDushi, I'm tempted to do the Jolly merely because of the reservation safety process. Anyone know or have any comments about this and how it should work or how to do it so that your CC info is safe?
doctrd Posted January 18, 2005 #6 Posted January 18, 2005 I sent my credit card via email last time, and just yesterday for upcomming cruise. They send you a statement right away. They do bill you for the entire amount, not just a deposit. They offer a 5 per person discount from the rates published, so a really good deal. Make sure you bring the printed statment with you, as one other couple besides ourselves needed it for proof of payment at the dock. Did not try the Jolly Pirates, but did see them when on our excursion. It was a similar size boat. Not sure about drink types and food provided on that one.
srwhudson Posted January 19, 2005 #7 Posted January 19, 2005 We took the MiDushi tour when we were in Aruba a couple of years ago. We all felt very taken care of. Had a great time. Am planning to do again on our next trip to Aruba in April.
Kathy M Posted January 19, 2005 #8 Posted January 19, 2005 We just got back and we did the Mi Dushi. It was a blast. The crew is awesome. There was three snorkel stops. They are good about being in the water with you. Two stops are at beachs and one over a ship wreck. Lunch was served after the last stop and rope swing. The swing is a must. I was not sure if I wanted to try and ended up doing it 3 times. The crew are fun to watch go off. they do flips and turns. Others were able to do that also. The drinks were flowing all day. They were really good at making sure you had what you needed. Lunch was delicous. beef, chicken, rice, pasta. I liked that there are not many people on the boat. There was plenty of room for everyone. I had no trouble with the payment. I gave my credit card info on the web site and was not nervous at all about that. When we got on our ship we told another couple about it and they wanted to come. We emailed the Mi Dushi and they were able to join in also. We did get the $5 Per person discount for booking ahead. cmjaffe Posted January 20, 2005 #9 Posted January 20, 2005 Also think of Jolly Pirates too. We had a great time w/Jolly.... 3 stops including Antilla great drinks, great new ship, great meal (chicken and ribs) AND if you book on line a great value too (save 10% off of $50 pp) Carolyn
rduke Posted January 20, 2005 #10 Posted January 20, 2005 Has any one done the Mi Dushi Happy Hour Cruise? we will be there in March. Is there snorkling on the HH cruise also or is it just their longer day cruise? Has anyone done both this boat as well as one of the ship's sunset catamarman cruises? if so could they compar the two. I know Carnival wants more for their sunset cruise. Is it worth it??
