Clay Hotel in Miami

I've checked this out on their website, http://www.clayhotel.com, and it looks good... Trip Advisor.com had good things to say but also bad things... Anyone have any personal experience with this... Thanks..

it's low end, but fantastic location at the price. only couple blocks to beach. shopping, bars, nightclubs all walking distance.

 

our group of about 20 were from 53 to 20's (they needed budget). Mixed reviews from older group, younger group loved it because of location. we spent the day at the beach, shopping, then out for dinner and drinks. the younger group went to the night clubs. Up in the morning for walk on the beach, breakfast and a little shopping, then to the boat!

 

would i stay there again, yes if we were on a budget, for a precruise night. we loved south beach. and...planned on spending the day at the beach, then out for the evening.

 

our room was clean, old, but clean. 3rd floor and no elevator.

 

this year, no budget concern, and we found a fantastic deal at the casa grande on 8th & Ocean Dr. only $215 during spring break, for 1 bdrm condo. we really lucked out. great pre cruise vacation (Victory - eastern caribbean) for 4 days!

 

FYI when we returned from our cruise we stayed in the port, for one night i recommend this, bayfront market was fun. Music at night, some fun restaurants, shops.

 

Any decent room in south beach with a good location will run $200 plus.
