Sunday port days

We are on the new Carnival Ship Freedom next April, and I noticed there are 2 Sundays we have port days - the first is in Rhodes Greece, the other is Livorno, Italy -

Is there somewhere to find out if things are open and available to tourists on Sundays?

Thanks,

You'll find that most places are open. We were in Livorno on a Sunday and went to Florence. We had been told that many of the stores would be closed in Florence but they were open.

If there is a particular museum, attraction you want to visit just do a google search, look it up, and see what the hours are.

Livorno is the port for Florence. We were just there a week ago on Sunday. Everything is open, but not all day. The churches have Sunday services in the morning and don't open for tourists until after 1 pm. However, the museums were open in the Morning. In Florence, many museums are closed on Mondays.

You will find that most museums in Europe are closed on Monday.

Another note, we did Livorno on a Sunday this year and DW and I wanted to visit the Uffizi. When I went to book my tickets on line (the best way to do it) the times were not very good for our cruise schedule. It's a good 1 1/2 train ride from the port, and the station is not at the port. I think the last moring tour was 1045 and the first afternoon tour was 1345. It would have been tight, so we went to Lucca instead.

Florence is a great city, enjoy!:)

From Livorno, you can also consider Pisa and Lucca, both an easy train ride from Livorno (see other posts for info on these places) and can check the train times for Sundays on www.trenitalia.it.

Both are easily walkable without having to go in anywhere. Online and guide book info on both places will give you opening hours of any sites/attractions you might want to visit.

And the same applies to Rhodes. Once you do your research on what you might want to see there, check guide books and online info for entry times etc. Its a very easily walkable town. There is much to see just strolling around.
