Dining Room / room service

I have read on here many times that you can get the nights dining room menu delivered to your room.

Anyone done this, what is the time frame you can do it, is it only dinner or lunch & breakfast also?

I know that they post the evening's menu outside of the dining room. It's usually put up early in the afternoon, so if you're passing by, you can check it out. I've never known they would send a menu to your room. (Guess I've never needed one!)
