Zuiderdam Aft Cabins

Hi:

 

Has anyone stayed in Cabins 4176, 4179 or 4181 on the Zuiderdam? I love the aft cabins and am wondering if they are smaller on Deck 4 than on 5, 6, 7 or 8. Has anyone experienced vibrations and noise in this location.

I was in cabin 1020 and it was great. Couldn't feel any motion of the ship, it was like being docked for the whole week.

I sailed in 4180 last year and had sailed in an aft cabin 3 times prior to that (7132). I was very dissappointed with the size of the veranda compared to the ones on higher floors. Large compared to the side verandas.. but quite a bit smaller than the aft cabins on higher floors. I think the aft cabins tend to be a bit smaller and the verandas bigger...because of this I would hunt for a higher floor to get the best bang for your buck on the veranda size. I think deck 5 have the largest verandas.

 

Some noise and vibration but nothing that I didn't get used to....it didn't bother us at all.

I stayed in cabin 4179 two summers ago and found it fine. The balcony was long and thin as opposed to short and wide but, as the OP mentioned, it was bigger than the side balconies are. Regarding vibration and noise, yes you will have some but it is nothing that you can't live with. By the second day of the cruise I didn't even notice it. The view off the back of that ship, especially at night, makes the experience of having a wake cabin worthwhile. I have the exact cabin booked only on the Westerdam for my March '07 cruise. :)
