mypyr Posted August 17, 2006 #1 Share Posted August 17, 2006 Hi Islander! We will be in St. Thomas in Tuesday-I can't wait! A lot of our fellow passengers are going to Coki Beach but I don't want to do any of the "big 3"- Coki, Sapphire and Magen's- What we want/need is: chair rentals, UMBRELLA rentals, a beach bar/food.. A sandy beach with great swimming but QUIET(relatively). My choices are(from the pictures of VINOW) Emerald Beach, Secret Harbor, Turtle Cove, Hull Bay and Cowpet Bay. Any other suggestions? Of course we would rather be closer than further from where the ship docks, but we will take a cab either way.. Thanks, Islander!
The Islander Posted August 17, 2006 #2 Share Posted August 17, 2006 Hello, Hull Bay doesn't have chair or umbrella rentals that I have ever seen. Unless the dive shop there has started carrying them. There is a restaurant/bar accross from the beach. The swimming is ok not great. Lots of small fishing boats anchored there and rocky in some spots. Decent snorkeling though and it would be quiet. Taxis, you would need to schedule a time for pick up as they aren't generally in the area. Cowpet, Emerald, Secret Harbor and Turtle Cove all have resorts/condos on site. So there are chairs, restaurant/bar. Umbrellas... Secret Harbor I think has a couple and Turtle Cove has them... they are set up already for resort guests. Most beaches here don't have umbrella rentals, the only one that comes to mind is Coki. Most beaches have natural shade from palm trees and seagrapes. The resort beaches tend to have umbrellas set up. The quietness of these beaches... well they aren't cruise ship passenger favored beaches but since there are resorts there, there will be hotel guests on the beaches. --Islander http://www.*****
