CoolSingleDad Posted August 17, 2006 #1 Share Posted August 17, 2006 For all of you Texas Hold-em fan, the Rhapsody now has a table in the casino dedicated specifcally to Texas Hold-em. The "house" does take a 10% "rake" on each hand. For example, if a pot get to be $50.00, the dealer will pull $5.00 and the winner gets the rest. The blinds are $5.00 big and $2.00 small with a minimum bet of $5.00 and maximum of $10.00. They also had a Hold-em tournament on the last day. $50.00 entry got you $800.00 in chips and you had the option to re-buy $500 in chips for an extra $25. Blinds started at $50 big and $25 small and increased every 10 minutes.....so it goes pretty quick. Tournament was limited to 49 players (7 tables of 7 players) and it filled after the first day.....so register quick if you're interested. You had to win your table to advance to the final table. Everyone at the final table won something......but based on my calculation......the casino took in bout $3,600 (cause virtually everyone re-bought even if they didn;t "need" to) and paid out only about $2,400 total prize money. I know they need to make a profit.....but 33% seemed a little steep. Anyway, I got eliminted early (it goes fast!).....but it was fun!
CruiseH0GG Posted August 17, 2006 #2 Share Posted August 17, 2006 I am assuming this was a No Limit tournament since they gave you $800 in chips right? We are sailing Oct. 1st and I am glad to hear they have Texas Hold'em on board. I see you're from Arkansas also. Are you going to the big game Sept. 2nd? I will be there rooting on my HOGS! Woo Pig Sooie!!!:)
CoolSingleDad Posted August 17, 2006 Author #3 Share Posted August 17, 2006 Yeah, it was a no limit tournament. I am from Arkansas....but originally from Texas. I'll be pulling for the Hogs....but not sure they have much chance against USC. By the way, if you want to play Hold-em at the table during the week, there was always a wait list. I think they'll probably have to expand that since it seemed pretty lucrative for the casino. Good luck!
