tkportersat Posted August 17, 2006 #2 Share Posted August 17, 2006 It is not a sure thing, but book a guaranty cabin. There are sometimes promotions that offers free upgrades, but it is usually within the same cabin category but on a floor higher up.
gumballz Posted August 17, 2006 #3 Share Posted August 17, 2006 Keeping your fingers crossed works just about as well as anything. It's all a matter of luck...or so it seems. :)

dansu Posted August 17, 2006 #6 Share Posted August 17, 2006 PVP told us to take what she gave us, and CCL would probably upgrade us since we are 1st time cruisers, and it's our 25th Anniversary trip. We told her move us up a few decks, assign a cabin, and charge the extra $90.00pp...I work hard for my money...but $180.00(2p), which in turn converts to about $200.00CDN, was not alot to pay to be assured I got what I wanted...after all, look what we are shelling out for the cruise. How would you feel after spending all that money to have the top of a lifeboat as your view. My hubby would have never heard the end of it... We booked and extended balcony, midship, Verandah deck. A short stair climb to the pooldeck, should I have to return to our cabin during the day. Notice I said "I return to the cabin", as hubby loves basking in the sunshine, and nothing short of an iceberg will be prying him off his lounge. Carnival Legend - Jan 2007 .....155 sleeps!
