Galveston and the Panama Canal

Since Celebrity left Galveston in April there are no more Panama Canal cruises from Galveston. Has anyone heard any news or rumors about RCCL (or any other cruiseline for that matter) bringing in another ship for the canal?

 

Please, please, please RCCL do the canal. Thanks

RCI does the canal--but from Miami or San Juan! It can be done, but you have to travel to the departure port!

I've looked at them from Miami. We live about 45 minutes from Galveston and that's soooooooooo easy.

 

We've done Celebrity once and Rhapsody twice (another booked). We can leave our house, park and be on the ship in about an hour and a half. Even though we're still in port and that close to home, once we step on the ship we feel miles away and the vacation is starting. No stressful airports to and from, no driving for hours just zip and we're there.

 

Only thing, itinerary is VERY limited. Just wishful thinking.
