Would recommend the Hoildiay Inn Express Convention Center on 17th

They have airport shuttle service. Only $6 to docks and cruise ships.

Places close by to eat etc.

We stayed there 12/26/05 and found it nice. Ate at Binimi Boat yard across the street.

La Quinta is reasonably priced for this area and has a shuttle. There are a couple of Hampton Inn's that sometimes are around the same price as La Quinta and have shuttles. The Hampton Inn on Stirling Rd. is not in the best neighborhood and the Comfort Inn right next door to it is a dump and has dangerous looking people hanging out around it late at night. Many on these forums thing Amerisuite's is a great place to stay for the price but, some posts say Amerisuites keeps promising to refurbish their rooms, which are starting to look old and worn, but no definate plans ever get made.

We've made the mistake of staying in the Comfort Inn on Stirling and it is one of the two worst hotels we've ever tried to sleep in. Stay far away from that one is my opinion. We had originally booked the La Quinta for our upcoming Dec. cruise but switched to the Hampton Inn Airport North because it's essentially the same price and we are Hilton Hhonors members.

We stayed at the Best Western Inn 2 miles from the airport and cruise port with shuttle to and from for $89 a night. This hotel is okay for just one night as its not near anything. Has a Winn Dixie next door and liquor store which was fine for us to stock up on to take on the ship. Also there was an excellent German rest. across the street which we had dinner at one night. The hotel is nothing special, hence the one night stay but the rooms are large and clean and beds extremely comfortable with fridge and microwave. Has a clean pool if you want to go for a swim. Worked for us. Do a search for Best Western in FLL if you're interested. Good luck.
