critterchick Posted August 21, 2006 #2 Share Posted August 21, 2006 Check on the Ports of Call thread - you'll get all kinds of recommendations. We stayed at the Citadines Aparthotel - centrally located right on Las Ramblas, nice quasi-apartment rooms (mini kitchen w/microwave, coffeemaker, dishwasher - we only used the fridge) and reasonably priced at 135 Euros/night. There was 1 computer in the lobby for hotel guests to access the Internet free of charge, and a washer/dryer in the basement, I think it was 8 Euros to use (we were going to but didn't have time). SingerEsq Posted August 21, 2006 #4 Share Posted August 21, 2006 Have stayed at the Intercontinental, which was nice. It's a bit of distance from the main city, but the subway (easily navigable) is just steps away from the lobby. That being said, wish we had stayed down near Las Ramblas and will next time, even if it means "lesser" digs. Great city.
envy4u Posted August 21, 2006 #5 Share Posted August 21, 2006 We have stayed in 2004 and 2006 at The Hotel Colon . It was 100 Euros per night double occupancy . It is centrally located just a few minutes walk from Las Ramblas and across from the Cathedral. Ask for Room 421 . It is a corner suite . It is huge with 2 windows and a very large bathroom for European standards . I would not hesitate in returning .

T&J Posted August 21, 2006 #7 Share Posted August 21, 2006 I have stayed twice at Hotel Regina which is one block away from Las Ramblas....wouldn't hesitate to recommend this property again to anyone. Price was 95 euros a night including a full buffet breakfast. Tony
wwinfl91 Posted August 21, 2006 #8 Share Posted August 21, 2006 Here's a great site for researching hotels. It has many reviews from real people (I know because I have several out there). http://www.tripadvisor.com/Tourism-g187497-Barcelona_Catalonia-Vacations.html Have a great next cruise. bunduo Posted August 21, 2006 #9 Share Posted August 21, 2006 The H10 Universitat is a very nice hotel located a block from Placa Catalunya. Again, check out the reviews on tripadvisor. :)
Jacqueline Posted August 21, 2006 #10 Share Posted August 21, 2006 I loved the Hotel Arts. But it has gotten more pricey since we were there in 2001. We stayed a few days precruise to work off the jetlag. THe kids had an adjoining room. Biggest bathrooms I ever saw. Great roomservice. Location is a bit out of the way. But a nice luxury property to get some R&R and pampering.
Logie Posted August 22, 2006 #11 Share Posted August 22, 2006 For next year we booked http://www.hotelcontinental.com. It is only 90 euro's a night and is on Las Ramblas. There is another sister property which is suppose to be a bit nicer, but it is not on Las Ramblas and a bit more.
