Drive-Time

I know this is going to get moved, but the United States Port thread has tumbleweeds blowing through it....

Anyone driven from North Metro Atlanta to Port Canaveral through Orlando? I was wondering how long it took them since MapQuest is usually off a bit.

Thanks!

Wow, we are practically neighbors. I asked the woman in the office next to me since she drives to Port Canaveral a few times a year. She said it takes anywhere from 7-9 hours depending on traffic and how fast you drive. She also mentioned that you can take I-10 east rather than staying on I-75 all the way into Orlando. Once you reach Jacksonville, take I-95 all the way to Port Canaveral. It is usually a little faster that way and you avoid the toll road. Hope that helps.

Looks like a pretty active forum to me!!!

Just adjust the mileage to your driving, how fast you drive, how often you need to stop - nobody's time will be the same as yours.

are we all neighbors?? just curious :)

I have drove this same route as you can see by my signature 7 times or so....If in a hurry and at night I can make it in 7 hours or so (with no children in tow)

I live in Waco (don't worry, no one know where it is) and work in Douglasville. That's weird how we posted almost the exact same advice at the same time. We must be right.

I live in Palm Beach, 2-2.5 hrs south of Canaveral.

I can get to midtown ATL in 9 hrs, did it a few weeks ago

(depending on traffic, of course)

You should be able to do it in 7+/- easy

and yeas, I-75S to I-10E to I-95S is best.

Going through Orlando is crazy

Any forum that goes an hour in between posts seems a bit dead to me. Thanks for the math lesson though. :D :p :D

Mileage-wise, I can see going through Orlando as being less.

The difference is that from Orlando to Canveral is Hwy 528, and it is not a "highway" like say I-75 and can be slow at times.

Nevertheless, my GPS mapping software (Mapsource for Garmin) says that from I-75S & the I-20 interchange, it is 503mi and capable in 7:04 going as mentioned prior
