RDeagazio Posted August 23, 2006 #1 Share Posted August 23, 2006 Anyone interested in the "new" Century? I just got invited to the re-inaugural cruise to nowhere on Nov. 9-11th and will post live from the ship. I'll also have pictures of all the cabin categories and public areas. If there's anything you want me to check out, post on this thread and I'll make notes to report back.
stinsowm Posted August 23, 2006 #2 Share Posted August 23, 2006 Bob, Now I know what is going on before the Century begins her 5 and 4 night sailings on November 13th. There must be another 2 night sailing after yours. Congratulations on getting invited to see the New Century. Look forward to your pictures and hearing all about it. judyjbest Posted August 24, 2006 #3 Share Posted August 24, 2006 Yes, Walter, you're very wise! We were just invited to the two-night 11/11-13! We'll also have lots of pictures to share. I've been reading about the Century renovations for months, so I'm thrilled to see it live!

Andy Posted August 24, 2006 #5 Share Posted August 24, 2006 Hi Everyone ! Are you folks who were invited all travel agents ? Or will some lucky Celebrity passengers get an invite as well ? I sure would love to have my phone ring tomorrow :) I will keep my fingers crossed !
4 cruisers Posted August 24, 2006 #6 Share Posted August 24, 2006 We are on the second cruise after the two day. There are two 5 day cruises in a row, then a 4 day. Ours is 11/18. Hope to see more pictures after the refurb too!
judyjbest Posted August 24, 2006 #7 Share Posted August 24, 2006 Andy, I'm a TA, as well as the first poster, but I'm not in the know who's invited, so I'll keep my fingers crossed for you as well. I received an email day before yesterday, and they said an invitation would arrive in the mail.
joelmarj Posted August 24, 2006 #8 Share Posted August 24, 2006 I would love to see lots of pictures of the inside of the new Sunset Veranda cabins as well as the balcony. I've only seen a few shots taken from the deck below, but would really love to see the whole thing. I have one booked for the Med next year. Thanks! I was on her last, right before her refurbishment. I am sure they took a great ship, and made her even better. Enjoy your Cruise !
RDeagazio Posted August 25, 2006 Author #10 Share Posted August 25, 2006 I'll take pics of all the public areas and cabin categories and will post on my webshots. Andy- yes, I'm a TA. Celebrity may invite the top tier Captains Club people like RCI does with C&A Diamond Plus, but I'm not sure if they will or not.

It would be great if the offered a few cabins to Captains Club Elite Members who live in the area, but I suppose that will depend on how many TA's take the offer. Who knows ? Maybe there is still a chance for Elite Members. Maybe I will get lucky, and get an email or phone call. One can hope !
ocngypz Posted August 25, 2006 #12 Share Posted August 25, 2006 Um,,, right now the two day sailings are primarily for ta's. There was a contest held for cabins. In our district we were allowed to pick either the sailing on Nov 9th or Nov 11th. Two others besides myself qualified in my office. I selected Nov 11th as I am also attending a 5 night seminar at sea on the 13th.. so it turns out to be a 7 nighter for me! Whee.......... The top 100 producing agents who qualified as winners in the contest get suites (sky suites). I suspect there will be quite a few media types onboard as well. Thanks for filling us in with additional details. Good for you. Congrats ! It must feel great, that you were able to turn a 5 night sailing into a 7 night sailing ! Hopefully, you will fill us in on all the details, when you return. Enjoy your Cruise !

This will be our first time cruising with Celebrity. Any info you can give would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Sandy
Ine Posted August 26, 2006 #16 Share Posted August 26, 2006 Today I had the pleasure of a tour and lunch on board Century in Amsterdam. The ship really looks fantastic..... I had made photos of the exterior earlier this year when the ship was in port and on her way through the Northseacanal. As passengers were coming on board too, we couldnot visit cabins, but as a few doors were open we made some photos very quick. I have a few photos online now at: http://s73.photobucket.com/albums/i208/Inevd/Visit%20on%20board%20Century/
judyjbest Posted August 26, 2006 #17 Share Posted August 26, 2006 Great pictures, Ine ... thanks for sharing! I've been looking forward to seeing that ice wall in the Martini bar, but it doesn't look amazing in your picture. How was it in person?
Ine Posted August 27, 2006 #18 Share Posted August 27, 2006 Actually it is NOT a ice-wall. On the bar there is a ;arge plate that gets water over it and that freezes. So the top of the bar is ice. Behind the bar there are icebock decorations.... Also the (woolen?) furniture of the chairs look like ice-crystals.
