huntedbear Posted August 24, 2006 #1 Share Posted August 24, 2006 I'm booked on a snokelling excursion in Ketchacan, Ak next month. I know this may not be a popular excursion and noticed that RCCL may cancel the excursion due to lack of interest. Does anyone know when they will inform us if it is cancelled, and how do they handle rebooking or refunding. I tried a search, but nothing came up. Calkat Posted August 24, 2006 #2 Share Posted August 24, 2006 Addam I'm not sure how RCCL handles it but on the Summit, notification of cancellations was put in your stateroom. Except for excursions that were full or hindered by weather, everything was left open until the normal cut off onboard. We did the snorkeling in Ketchikan in May and our tour consisted of two couples from the Summit, one couple from RCCL and one couple from Princess (although the Princess couple had their own bus). If it is cancelled, you will receive credit immediately and be able to book something else. K

K Glad to hear they combine people from other ships, however, the Vision will be the only one in port that day =( We're working on a contigency plan, but if all else fails it'll end up being more shopping!!!!!! (the other half is going to kill me...hehehe)

MANY people wait till they board to reserve their shore excursions.

Typically, if you book in advance and put it on a credit card, they will credit your card fairly quickly. If you book on board they charge your seapass account and the credit will be refunded to your sea pass account immediately. That is how it occurred on one of our Western Caribbean trips. We had two cancelled on us due to weather. One was booked on board and the other was booked online through RCI. The credits were applied as I described above.
