cant get the $200 on board credits!

i am a captains circle member and have just taken 3 princess cruises since nov 2005, in addition to others in the past years. my daughter who has sailed with them july 2004 and september 2005 has just received a flyer for 200 OBC if she books by a certain date.she also got a similar flyer last year, which she did use i called princess to request my 200 OBC and was told that the computer refuses to select me as i travel too much. hows that for loyalty?

The brochure you refer to might be a way to try and incite people who have taken one or two cruises to take another one. It's just a marketing hook in today's cruise-heavy market. Since you have already taken three in less than a year with then, they might think that you don't need to be further incited into another cruise. We sail with Princess (at least) once a year and did not receive that brochure. We book our next cruise on board and get OBC for that. Frankly, we would sail with Princess without the OBC because we like the line. I'm sorry that you feel unrewarded for your loyality. I suspect if you went some where else, you'd be receiving incentives before too long.

You receive incentive in the form of the bonuses attributed to your Captain's Circle level.

 

Your daughter receives incentives in the form of OBC in order to help her get to your level.

We have a cruise booked for March already but have not made final payment . . . I'm going to call my TA and see if I can apply it. I am thinking I may have to cancel it and rebook to get the credit but hey if it works - I'll take it.

The same thing happened to us a few months ago. Since we hadn't paid our final payment our TA was able to get Princess to give us the obc. It wasn't easy he had to make several calls and talk to a supervisor.

To the OP; Princess now targets specific promotions to individuals, and just because we may hear of a promotion offered to a friend or family member does not mean we are also 'eligible' in the computer for the same promotion. Very frustrating, but it may help you to know that you are not alone in this situation.

Same thing happened to us and when I called Princess, they told me it is a ramdom computer selection and it doesn't matter how often you cruise with them. I guess it is just a pick of the draw. We book future cruises while onboard now and are guranteed the OBC and a low deposit for future bookings. They also give you an invitation card to pass on to friends who may want to travel with you. It gives them the same perk of the onboard credit that you get.

Welcome to my world. I have tried everything I can think of to get that credit, but since I wasn't mailed the brochure, I can't receive the credit. BTW-This will be my first Princess cruise. Really disappointing considering there's no rhyme or reason to these promotions.
