Giorgi-one Posted August 28, 2006 #1 Share Posted August 28, 2006 We spent the day at Sunset beach last Wedneday. $40 per person. Not a bad way to spend a day but do not confuse this AI with upscale AIs elsewhere. Does not compere to Iberostar or Secrets in Riviera Maya. Not even close. As mentioned on some previous posts, most of the staff are extemely unfriendly to the point of 'why are you bothering me'? Again, nothing like the unbelievable service we got in Mexico. Get there early if you want a shady spot. Not much shade available on the beach. No service on beach - you need to go to bar to get drinks. 232271 Posted August 29, 2006 #2 Share Posted August 29, 2006 So you were not impressed? they were rude? can you go into more detail. We are considering this for November and dont want to go if we are going to not enjoy ourselves? Was the pool area nice? Was it very crowded? How was the food quality? IF you go back would you go here or do something else? thanks!! :)

There are several pool areas and they are nice. We had burgers for lunch. Nothing to write home about. They also have a luncheon buffet with signs saying no bathing suits allowed. We later observed that everyone in the restaurant were in bathing suits. Food may have been better at the buffet. I serioysly doubt that I would go back there but as Sean Connery one said " NEVER SAY NEVER!

MACE Posted September 7, 2006 #6 Share Posted September 7, 2006 We were at Sunset Beach Resort last Thursday off of the Freedom Of the Seas and had a great time. No rude staff at all, from the security personal when first arriving, to the front desk when checking in, to the folks in the various bars, grill, and buffet. Though we haven't been to any AI resorts recently for comparision, we'd go back to SB with no problem. We got there around 9:30 and had no problem throughout the day up to 2:30, finding chairs in the shade or sun around the various pools or on the beach. Didn't feel too crowded in the water park either. This was our 10 year old daughter's favorite port of call during the cruise -MACE-

Hi, we liked the waterpark area quite a bit, has two big waterslides, a lazy river, waterfalls, bridges, a pirate ship (can't go on it) and pool areas to complement other pool areas within the resort Its about a 5 minute taxi ride from the pier, you can see SB from the ship, the two tall yellowish buildings and you can see the ship from the resort. We were told it should be $2 PP for the taxi but there we're only two of us and it cost $5. If you do go to SB, I think you'll enjoy it quite a bit -MACE-
