Shoot, I love my cruise clothes and want to bring every one of them with me when/if we evacuate!!! Maybe this Ernesto thing will be kind to our state and take its own cruise out to sea!!! Then we don't have to worry about how many suitcases I pack to go to a hotel!!!! (I don't "do" shelters.) Kitties are ready to go to my daughter's.

Esther,

Let's just pray that Ernesto comes and goes with only a whimper.

Spoke to my Mom in Ft. L today and she'll stay in her apt, as she did last year, but is making necessary preparations.

Is she in a high-rise? If so, she probably has a generator at least for the elevators. Boy, I just wish there was somebody who could invent something to quell all major storms and fires. Peaceful, calm weather is not boring!!!!

Yes, she's in a high rise, but last year the generator conked out after the first day and she had no electricty for about 3 days. She lives on the 14th floor and managed to go up and down twice, but the stairwell was hot and pitch black, so even with flashlights, very dangerous.

According to lastest reports, it looks like it's not going to be so bad. <fingers crossed>

That's awful. My daughter was without power for about a week and she said she felt like a mole after sundown. They bought a generator recently! Yes, it does look like we might get a break. Don't you think this poor state deserves a break???:)
