carnival Sensation _ New Cruiser!

Recommended Posts

Hi, :)

Having been invited to join a celebration cruise on the Sensation to Nassau, some advice please:

(1) Offered 6A cabins on the Riveiera Deck1 - good, not so good, go for something better?

(2) Tips and advice for our first cruise.

(3) Anything else I should be aware of before, during, at Nassau, or after the cruise?

Boring these questions may be, but as a beginner, I need to ask!

Regards to all who are out there; QMTA67 :)

I've never been in a Riveria Deck cabin, but many seem to like the lower decks for less motion.

(2) Tips and advice for our first cruise.

Stay here and read everything you can. Great advice from many seasoned cruisers.

That's what the boards are for! No questions are considered silly. Welcome.:) Oh, you might want to check out Cruise Critic's Bahamas board for more into.

A 6A cabin means you will have a window. The Sensation is a class of ship that does not have a lot of "balconies" like the newer ships...but it is still a wonderful ship. So getting a window is good.

The Riveria Deck just means you are on the lowest deck...but that does not mean your room is smaller. And it is fine. We have stayed on every level of the Fantasy class ships and they were all wonderful.

It does have the atrium (here I love to sit and watch people). It is big enough to have a good cruise feel....without being to big. You should have a wonderful time!!

Do a search for "Cruise 101" on this Carnival board and you will get a great stack of tips!!

I will 2nd the recommendation to check out the Bahamas board.

We have the 4 day Sensation cruise to the Bahamas leaving a week from this Sunday and I got fantastic information over there.

(plus much inside info from the incredibly helpful Scubagirl, who actually lives there much of the year)

I have never really cared where my stateroom is. I don't spend much time there. The advantage to being on the Riviera deck is being closer to the debarkation area in your various ports of call (it's usually on deck zero)

I've been to Nassau several times but not for a long time so I don't really remember much about it other than there is a big vendor shopping area right off the pier, and the main street shopping area is within walking distance.
