Port (left?) or Starboard (RT?) on Southern Caribbean cruise

Going on Serenade of the seas in March. I've been told 2 different things. I had to switch dates due to a fluke and the 2nd Travel Agent told me I needed to be on the port side to see the sights on a southern caribbean cruise. The first TA told me it didn't matter.

Question 2: There is an adjoining room available. We will not be adjoining with the second cabin. Any cons to booking this cabin. It is closer to the middle and on the port side.

Any help will be so greatly appreciated.
