newbie with a few questions

I know it is very early, but we just booked the Sept 22, 2007 Passports to Italy cruise and I wonder were I can find info on private tours for Cinque Terre, Amalfi/Positano, Messina, Katakolon and Corfu. Also does anyone know if you can rent a car in the Livorno port. We have been to Florence many times and would rather spend the day revisiting some of our favorite hill towns and vineyards in Tuscany.

Thanks in advance for your help,

Susan - NJ

Scroll up to the top of this page and look for the link to "Cruise Critic Message Boards" -- it will be just under the link to "Home". Click on that and it will take you to an index of all the message boards. Scroll down until you see the section called "Ports of Call". Along the way, you'll see some other forums you might want to explore, like "Roll Calls".

The Ports of Call Section is organized by destination. Your most likely choice will be "Europe". Click on that and once you get there, look near the top on the right hand side for a link to "Search this forum". Click on that, and a text box will appear for you to enter your search words. Enter a port in which you are interested and a list of messages that mention this port will be presented. Many of the messages will be of interest to you; some will just mention the port in passing. You'll have several hours of fun (if you're like me, and consider research fun) reading them all, gleaning information and making notes. :)

Don,

Thanks for the directions. I have already spent many hours reading the past meassages here (about 40 pages worth) and have already jotted down some websites and names to check out. My husband and I like researching areas and then exploring on our own what interests us most. Thanks for your help.
