9876 Posted September 3, 2006 #1 Share Posted September 3, 2006 I just booked my first cruise on RCCL; Liberty of the Seas/I have cruised Carnival twice. With all of the additional amenities on the new RCCL ships I was wondering what there is a surcharge for? The wave rider, golf simulator, etc...? Is ice skating open to the public often? Is there a surcharge for Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream? Anything else? Any feedback would be appreciated! Thanks.
Valerie Posted September 3, 2006 #2 Share Posted September 3, 2006 Hi 9876, I just returned today from Freedom of the Seas. The things that has a surcharge are as follows: Ben and Jerrys Johnny Rockets Portofino Chops Grille I'm not sure about the golf simulator, because I did not participate. If you have any other questions, I'll be happy to answer them.
teach01 Posted September 3, 2006 #3 Share Posted September 3, 2006 There is a charge for the golf simulator. I think you have to make an appointment to use it.
9876 Posted September 3, 2006 Author #4 Share Posted September 3, 2006 Thanks for the info. Did you like Freedom? Was it a bit too big? I am wondering.
Inshape Posted September 3, 2006 #5 Share Posted September 3, 2006 Ice skating is free but limited times on sea days only. There is a charge for the golf simulator. Eat the free frozen yogurt they have instead of ben and jerrys. The promanade cafe on the other ships is wonderful for great pastries, sandwiches and giant cookies. The pizza is ok too. They also serve tea, hot chocolate, coffee there--the specialty coffee is additional charge too. You can/cannot use the extras if you do not wish and you would not be missing a fine cruising experience. We do not eat at the specialty restuarants... we paid enough already and the dining room is just fine!
