Set Sail Pass/Official Doc's

Recommended Posts

We have a group reservation for 10/1. Let me start by saying we have had a few little issues with our TA - so not always sure things are ok. When you have a group booking through a TA with RC they will not help or tell you anything, they tell you to go through the TA. Currently we are worried about getting to the ship and not being able to get on as some of the people in our group cannot get the info needed from her.

My question for you professional cruisers is this ~ we have been able to do the online registration and print out or Set Sail Passes. Can I take that as confirmation that all is fine and complete with the trip? I keep reading on here of others cruising around the same time getting their doc's already. Just this afternoon was told by the TA she still doesn't have ours, but do we really need them if we did the online thing?

Seem weird to anyone or am I just paranoid?

The SetSail Pass is really all you need to get on the ship. You can even get your luggage tags at the pier.

As to your docs, I wouldn't be worried. RCCL generally starts sending them out at around 30 to 45 days out, usually closer to 30 days. They send the docs out in batches; not everybody gets their docs at the same time. People who booked directly with RCCL tend to get theirs first, then after that people who booked with TAs.

This is why I dont use a TA, anyway . . . total loss of control.

You dont need additional docs if you have your SetSail Pass, although it is nice as it puts you in the cruising mood. The only other thing that will be in the document pack would be your airport transfer vouchers, if you bought the one offered through the cruise line, and of course your luggage tags. Niether of those do you really need as well, although your TA should have tags she can print for you now with their new system. If you bought the transfer, they will have your name on the manifest at the airport. There will be a rep with a clipboard where you can check in for the bus. The RCCL rep at the airport will also have luggage tags, as does the Porters at the dock. All you will need is your room number and ships name to put on the tag. Once you hand off this luggage, you will not see it again until later that afternoon so keep your carryon with you with what you absolutely need.

So, you are all set to have a happy trip.
