Decorating the Room for Anniversary?

I know that several of you bought the Romance Special on POH for $79. lnr (42).gif However looking this over, I decided it was not the best for us...first we don't drink very much and Le Bistro's menu doesn't sound good to us. So I was thinking about doing the $30 room decorations with cake. Has anyone done this before? Was it done before you got to your cabin that first night?

Thanks for the info!!!

My sister sent my husband the birthday package to our cabin. The room was decorated when we got on the ship. It was basically a streamer across the ceiling, a Happy Birthday banner on the wall, a few balloons floating in the room and a cake. The cake was pretty good, we had it as dessert after dinner in our suite.

We had the anniversary decorations(banner and streamers) and cake in our room when we arrived. It was a gift from a friend for our 25th anniversary. The only downside to it was when the balloons broke on their own.....in the middle of the night.

A friend of our brought her own decorations and tipped the cabin steward to decorate the cabin while they were in port one afternoon, and surprised her husband. They were also able to get a small cake in the main dining room by getting a card from the pursers desk and giving it to the waiter that evening.

I love that idea. This is just a personal opinion, but I wasn't sure it was worth the $30. Actually it was supposed to be decorated as a Bon Voyage theme for my kids but it was Happy Birthday when we got there. Lucky for me it really was the husband's birthday so it worked out fine. The cake was delicious. I really like your friend's idea of bringing the decorations onboard.
