You're my neighbor--well, almost! Just out of curiosity, do you know if you can call Carnival and ASK them if you have an assigned cabin yet (when you got your docs 70 days prior and it said TBA). I was hoping if I waited until after the final payment date, which this coming week, maybe if I called then they could/would tell me. What do you think?

Hey neighbor...I was born and raised in N.O.:)

First, who did you book with? If Carnival, yep you can call them and ask, but it still might be TBA. If through a TA or online agent, you'll have to ask them instead.

You're confusing me. About getting docs 70 days out (?) ... You won't get your docs until after final payment, usually 2-3 weeks before the cruise.

Or am I now confusing you?:D

I recieved my docs (I swear, these are the docs) about a week after my final payment, which was about 70 days out. It is now 64 days out. A friend going on the same cruise paid hers off about a month before I did and has not gotten hers yet. I got a little blue folder/envelope thing with a little book in it that looks like a coupon/voucher kind of book with all kinds of terms/conditions/rules, a sail and sign form to fill out and turn in, a booklet about the ships and activities (basically the same stuff on the FAQ part of their Carnival site) and my LUGGAGE TAGS (four gray ones) and a form for immigration or something. Is this not "THE DOCUMENTS" I always hear about? Even on the back of the sail and sign form is that big long line of numbers that everyone says contains the cabin number after the booking number but mine has TBA after the booking number, then some other numbers including date. I booked directly thru Carnival, not an agent. Are you still confused? If so, then I am too! hehe I can't imagine some other documents if these arent the famous ones I hear about--they included my luggage tags!!

One more thing, the final payment date is the 14th for the cruise but I've already paid mine off a week or two ago. That might make more sense. I thought maybe after the "official due date" then they might start assigning rooms and I could call and see if mine was assigned yet.
