RCI Baggage Dropoff and Parking, Port Canaveral, Port Everglades

Hi, can anyone please walk me through how the Sovereign of the Seas luggage dropoff and parking works at Port Canaveral? I have cruised from PC with Disney 4 times, and so I know their procedure, but following an RCI cruise from Miami last January I learned that RCI does not always have the port operations as coordinated as Disney does. We are meeting some friends for the Sovereign cruise, it will be their first cruise so they are looking to us (me) as the "expert" to smooth the way, and I don't want to let them down. I do know that the parking is $12/day, and I have charged that on my VISA on previous PC trips, so that much I know is set by PC and the not cruise lines. Other than that, such as "do you drop off the luggage first and then pull around to park" like on Disney, or things like that, thanks in advance.

And while I'm at it, will be driving to Port Everglades for the first time in November--have flown in and gone to the port in a cab before, but if anyone has current logistics of how to park and drop off luggage at Port Everglades, thanks for that, too.

You go to the port - pull around and drop your luggage off with the porter if your not carrying everything on. They'll tell you which lane to get in and you circle around and pay to park then go to the paking garage. That's the way it's been on our last 3 Sovereign cruises. I assume it's still the same way. Our last time on was Dec 05.

It's so easy!!!!! Our favorite port. We have sailed on Mariner 2 times from this port -- the last time was in a family group and everyone was pleased. We are sailing Mariner again in Jan. partly because it is so hassle free. Make sure your baggege tags are on your luggage. That seems to slow folks down.

When you enter the ship terminal, you will see where you need to head, as there will be signs for Royal Caribbean. Once you arrive at the gate where you enter for the parking, drop off and the ship, a security guard will tell you exactly what to do. He will tell you to drive all the way to the end of the drive, then the people who unload your luggage will point you in the right direction, as to pulling up and dropping of luggage. They will tell you how to proceed "back out of the parking/ship area" and "re-enter" where you originally came in and talked to the security guard. Tell him you have dropped off your luggage and need to park, and he will instruct you. Park your car and just walk into the builing (as you face the building) which is left of the baggage drop off. You will not get lost or confused. Everyone is so kind and helpful. Enjoy your cruise! I have been on the Sovereign four times, she great small, short cuise, ship!
