wakelover Posted September 10, 2006 #1 Share Posted September 10, 2006 We are taking my parents on their first cruise in May (they are so excited...as are we!) Husband and I are Crown and Anchor members (first time) but my folks arent. We would like to go to the C&A events but dont really want to leave my parents on their own (although they may welcome some peace and quiet!!!:D ). Would they be able to attend with us or is it strictly members only?
Ella2 Posted September 10, 2006 #2 Share Posted September 10, 2006 It is for members only...they will be invited on their NEXT cruise. :) There is only ONE event so your parents won't be missing much.
Travelgrrl Posted September 10, 2006 #3 Share Posted September 10, 2006 I believe that as long as members of the party are C & A members, everyone is welcome - in my experience no one is collecting the 'invitations' at the C & A party - just lined up at the door to welcome you. The date and time of the party is not publicized, only on invitations, so if you know about the party, they figure you have been invited. I wouldn't hesitate to bring your parents along. And ordinarily I'm a rule follower, not breaker. Flame on, o those who disagree! ;)
cb at sea Posted September 10, 2006 #4 Share Posted September 10, 2006 I agree--take them with you--no invitation need be presented! (Who knows, they may welcome some "alone time" and this may be a good opportunity for them!) Just because it's their 1st cruise doesn't mean they need to be joined at your hip! wakelover Posted September 10, 2006 Author #5 Share Posted September 10, 2006 Thanks for that. I wonder if it will make a difference that although they wont be members when they first sail, they already have other cruises booked with RCI. Maybe they will make an allowance. Either that or I'll just get them to pretend their lost :D
Cbear1973 Posted September 11, 2006 #6 Share Posted September 11, 2006 So if I'm a C&A member, but my db has never cruised, would it be awkward for him to join me at the returners party?
CaptData Posted September 11, 2006 #7 Share Posted September 11, 2006 Cbear 73 I am single and I was allowed one guest. Since he is your husband no one will question it anyways.

Go up to the C&A Loyalty Ambassador's desk and pick up a couple of C&A applications, fill them out, and drop them in the box. Voila! Instant C&A members. For those that would be sticklers about the rules, we will personally will forgoe our next C&A party on board, and "donate" our munchies and drinks to Mum and Dad....:D :D Enjoy the party, and ask for a glass of house champagne on me!!:D :D
