NE/Canada trip on the Dawn - 2 questions!

Ok, after attempting twice to get a hold of someone at NCL and failing (I don't have time to spend more than 45 minutes at at time while at work!), I thought perhaps someone here might be able to help me!

My husband and I are going on the Oct 7th cruise on the Dawn and he's an insulin dependant diabetic. We've got a balcony stateroom (BB) and wondered if there were fridges in all of the rooms to keep his meds in? If not, is renting one too much to ask?

Also, do I need to request one bed as opposed to two (like you would in a hotel) or do they just push the two beds together to make one bed?

Silly questions I realize but no one at NCL seems to be answering the phone :)

Thanks

My mother is insulin dependent. You will love the freestyle dinning. It worked perfectly for us. We were able to eat when she needed to eat and not have to adjust her schedule to accommodate the cruise lines dinning times. We had a refrigerator and yes I do believe all room have them.

There are fridges in the cabins on the DAWN and just ask the cabin steward when you board to put the beds together for you...Have a great cruise :-)

Just got off the Dawn a couple months ago, yes the cabins have fridges. Dad is also on insulin and found the temperature in the fridge to be adaquete for his insulin. Just ask your cabin steward for a sharps container, it is quite a routine thing for them, have no worries! :)

That is wonderful news. Thanks for that!

Ok now, since you've all been so helpful, here's another question.

We booked our flight on our own and are flying into LaGuardia. We have the option of booking a $30 per person transport fee with NCL. Is that worth it or would taking a cab be a better option? I've never been to NYC so I have no idea how far away (or how long a cab ride) it would be from the airport to the dock/port/whatever it is called.

Thanks,
