Hi, new to posting on the boards, but have been readining for awhile now and want to thank everyone for their input and info.

We booked the Glory directly thru Carnival for 9/30 and have already called in regards to one price drop, which was back in July. I was on their website today and saw it had dropped again, but when I called and spoke to the PVP that picked up the phone, she said that price applied to new bookings only, and that if we wanted the change in price we would be subject to moving from and 8E to 8A, which is basically a drop of 4 decks! This doesn't seem fair, and it didn't happen when we first inquired about the $$ drop back in July. Has anybody gone thru this before? TIA.

There are always different sales and promos... some are just for new bookings so if you want to take advantage, you would be "rebooking", and yes, moved down to the original deck (back to a guarantee status)... you have to compare the pricing of what you have NOW... so if the pricing drops on the 8E, below what you paid originally, you may be able to get a credit...

Once you get past final payment, you aren't entitled to price drops. They might give you a price drop or cabin credit, but it is at their discretion.

Why you would lose your current cabin is not clear, unless you got a "free" upgrade from 8A to 8E on your booking. In that case, to get the 8A price you'd have to take the 8A cabin (and that would apply before or after final payment). If you're in an 8E you'd need to compare to that current pricing, not 8A if that is what you're doing.
